Engaging the Power of Faith for the Fulfilment of Prophecy (Part 1A)
Without faith, no prophecy will ever see the light of day. Faith is not a belief system; it is standing on the Word and believing it, till it comes to pass. Faith is a spiritual substance, it gives substance to your expectations. It is not fake; it is simply expecting God to do what He says He will do if you align.
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying; 1 kings 8:15.
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? Isaiah 53:1.
Faith is the only way to bring the hand of God to bear on any matter, including the fulfilment of prophecies. Prophecy is unveiling God’s plans and purpose as it speaks to you.
And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him; Deuteronomy 18:21-22.
Any Word you hear from God is the key to receiving your portion.
And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord; Luke 1:45.
Faith is not cheap; faith is hard work. It responds to spiritual labour. You don’t build faith wishing; you build faith by labouring in the Word.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;); Hebrews 10:23.
Any faith not anchored on the revelation of the Word is fake. Faith doesn’t come by prayer; it comes by hearing and understanding the Word of God. When you pray in the Holy Spirit, He opens your understanding to understand the word which builds faith.
Note: The biblical proof of faith is rest, therefore, develop your faith to secure your rest.
What are Prophecies?
1. Prophecies are the unveiling of God’s plan and purpose as it relates to people and individuals.
2. Prophecies speak to our present, our future, posterity, and eternity.
Prophecies are God’s sworn verdicts!
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice; Genesis 22:17-18.
God speaks according to what He can do and will do, as you believe.
No matter how terrible the economy of a nation is, every practicing covenant child of God is ordained to be exempted.
And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth.
16 And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.
17 And they brought their cattle unto Joseph: and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for horses, and for the flocks, and for the cattle of the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread for all their cattle for that year.
18 When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
19 Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
20 And Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine prevailed over them: so the land became Pharaoh’s.
21 And as for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Egypt even to the other end thereof.
22 Only the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had a portion assigned them of Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which Pharaoh gave them: wherefore they sold not their lands.
23 Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.
24 And it shall come to pass in the increase, that ye shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.
25 And they said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find grace in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.
26 And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth part, except the land of the priests only, which became not Pharaoh’s.
27 And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly; Genesis 47:15-27.
Let your faith come alive; it is your covenant life wire. All you need is to build strength into your faith in these heavily stormy days. Prophecy is the unfolding of God’s plan.
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him; Deuteronomy 18:22.
Everything God speaks comes to pass; prophecy requires Faith to come to pass.
Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them; Isaiah 34:16.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you; John 15:16.
Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed; 1 Samuel 2:30.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise; Proverbs 11:30.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you; Matthew 6:33.
Every prophecy of scriptures applies to whosoever believes!
We serve a God of plans and purposes and he unveils his plans to his own people, which is the pattern of God, the unveiling of those plans is prophecy.
For I am the Lord: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord God; Ezekiel 12:25.
Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world; Acts 15:18
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Isaiah 46:10
It takes faith to see prophecies delivered.
And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord; Luke 1:45.
There is need to inject faith into prophecies in order to see the fulfillment of the prophecies. Until faith is injected, the content cannot be delivered.
How powerful are Prophecies?
- Prophecies are God’s sworn verdict.
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice; Genesis 22:17-18.
They are reaction to man’s obedience.
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Hebrews 6:17-18.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen; Hebrews 11:1.
It is a doing faith that is a genuine faith!
2. God speaks according to what he can and will do as we believe.
The question is not the ability of God, usually it is capacity of your faith. The capacity of your faith determines what you can collect. Absence of faith means no collection. Little faith means little collection, and gigantic faith, gigantic collection. Faith is a non-negotiable factor, when faith is absent, people will lack evidence. But, when faith is present, people will have evidence.
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord; Luke 1:35, 45.
There is no human way to organise whatever God has said to pass, it is only God that can do it that’s why you trust and obey Him.
How to Access the Prophetic Word
- It is through the Bible.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost; 2 Peter 1:19-21.
The Bible is a book of prophecies.
And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned; Isaiah 29:11-12.
The Bible is a prophecy bank. Every statement of scriptures is prophetic in nature.
Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them; Isaiah 34:16.
This is the most reliable prophecy resource bank.
- It is through personal encounters.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you; John 15:16.
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran; Genesis 12:1-4.
- It is through God-sent prophets.
But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;
26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian; Luke 4:25-27.
There is a prophet sent to you, God has ordained prophets for you.
The Relevance of Faith in the Fulfilment of Prophecies
- Faith strengthens the believer to see prophecies fulfilled.
For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac; Genesis 21:2-3.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen; Hebrews 11:1.
Faith strengthens you for the day of battle.
- Faith is your covenant life.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it; Hebrews 4:2.
The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments; 2 Timothy 4:13.
Little faith cannot stand the test of time. Build strength into your faith to withstand the stormy days. Bible-faith is real!
Bible-faith is tangible!
Bible-faith never lacks proofs!
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place; 2 Corinthians 2:14.
You must commit to building your faith through learning from the Word of God. Whatever you cannot find written in the Bible, trash it!
Faith is a weapon that is available exclusively to the redeemed. The faith that overcomes is the faith that is engaged by the redeemed.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1 John 5:14.
Faith responds to physical labor!
You build Faith labouring in the word. You don’t build it wishing. Every Faith not anchored on revelation of the word is fake and cannot deliver.
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God; Hebrews 4:3 – 9.
Faith is a profession.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;); Hebrews 10:23.
Faith launches people’s into rest. We labored in the word to build Faith that brings rest.
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses; Matthew 8:17.
Don’t say you’ve read a book if you’ve not found any revelation!
Faith comes by hearing and understanding the word of God.
Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God; Luke 1:34 – 35.
God speaks according to what he can do, when you respond to the prophetic word in faith you’ve committed God to make it happen. Faith stretches a believer to see prophecies fulfilled. Nothing strengthens like Faith in the days of battle.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen; Hebrews 11: 1.
To see prophecies fulfilled;
- We must receive it in our minds.
Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria; 2 kings 7:1.
2. We believe the prophetic word in our heart.
Allow his word to influence your thinking pattern.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God; Romans 12:2.
But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:2-5.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it; Hebrews 4:2.
- We must work out our part to see the delivery.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works; James 2:18
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small; Proverbs 24:10.
We must be addicted to word consumption to build strength into our faith, whatever is taking away your word appetite is taking away from your faith.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God; Romans 10:17.
- We must engage the fight of faith to see delivery, God gives freely, and man takes forcefully.
We need to build strength into our faith by learning from those who know.
Don’t just claim what God has said concerning the year, do what God commands concerning the year!
Settle down with the word to the point where your spirit man is so charged that nothing is permitted to challenge you. Whatever God can do faith can make happen. Revelation is the birthplace of Faith. We commit to reading so revelation can come alive.
Faith is a weapon available to the redeemed, it is only for the redeemed. Until you’re born again you can’t draw from the virtue of Faith. There is no devalued currency, you just need to have enough!
